When do you need to replace your oil tank?

In Vermont, oil tanks generally need replacing after about 25 years of service. New state regulations now require more rigorous inspection to assure that your tank is safe and secure. These regulations were put into place to prevent spills in homeowner's basements.

Our technicians inspect oil tanks on every service call and recommend replacements whenever they detect weaknesses or instability and keep your tank in compliance with the new regulations. Our new oil tanks are UL-listed, made from 12 gauge steel, and have all been inspected and pressure-tested to make sure they don't leak, so you stay safe and warm through cold Vermont winters.

Underground Oil Tanks

If you have an underground oil tank, especially one that has been in place for twenty years or more, you should consider replacing it with a new basement tank. Through the Petroleum Clean-Up Fund, VT's Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) offers Vermont homeowners grants of up to $3,000 towards the cost of removing, replacing, or upgrading both underground and above-ground residential heating oil tanks.
